How to get an ISIC card?
Order it online, fast and simple.

Anyone who legally holds student status can obtain an ISIC, specifically::
- Full-time students at Romanian universities, higher vocational schools, and secondary schools.
- Participants in one-year foreign language courses with full-time instruction.

- Students in part-time or distance learning programs.
- Students of foreign schools.
- Military or police students who are not enrolled in civilian study programs.
- Students of schools not listed in the Romanian school register (except for those on the list of recognized foreign schools fulfilling compulsory education in Romania).

If you do not qualify for an ISIC, you may be eligible for an IYTC card.
Many schools issue ISIC as an official student chip card with an ISIC license. If your school does not provide ISIC, you can order a single-issued ISIC card online.
To order a single-issued ISIC online, you will need:
- A photo suitable for an ID card.
- Proof of student identity (ID card, driver’s license, passport) and proof of identity of a legal guardian if the student is under 15 years old.
- Electronic confirmation of studies (PDF with an electronic qualified signature) or an application for an ISIC card (the confirmation on the application must not be older than two months on the date of order submission).
For school-issued ISIC cards, ask your school’s ISIC contact person about the required documents.
The price of a school-issued ISIC card varies—contact your school’s ISIC representative for exact details.
The price of a single-issued ISIC card (ordered online) is 400 CZK for a digital card, with an optional plastic card available for an additional 100 CZK.
An ISIC card is always valid from the beginning of September of one year until the end of December of the following year.
A school-issued ISIC card can be renewed annually. Renewal is done at the school, and the new validity will be displayed immediately in the digital ISIC within the Alive App. Some schools also provide revalidation stickers for plastic cards. Renewal prices and conditions vary by school—check directly with your institution.
A single-issued ISIC card cannot be renewed. Once it expires, you can order a new one online.
What to do when your ISIC card is about to expire?
- Single-issued ISIC card: If you ordered your ISIC online, you can simply request a new one.
- School-issued ISIC: If your ISIC was issued by your school, you can renew it annually. Renewal processes vary by school, so check directly with them. The updated validity will be visible in the Alive App.
